We invite judges, prosecutors, attorneys, and other legal professionals across the EU to join a two-day workshop focused on critical topics in judicial governance and the rule of law. This event will provide a collaborative platform to discuss modern challenges in judicial administration, with a special emphasis on:
- Digitalisation of Judicial Systems: Exploring the benefits, challenges, and implications of digitizing court systems.
- Communication Strategies: Rethinking how courts and judges engage with the public, including the potential role of social media.
- Extrajudicial Activities of Judges: Examining the impact of judges' involvement in activities outside their official duties.

Marta Cartabia, former President of the Italian Constitutional Court and Minister of Justice
Kateřina Šimáčková, Judge at the European Court of Human Rights
Kees Sterk, senior Dutch judge, former President of the European Judicial Training Network, and former Vice President of the Dutch Judicial Council
Zdeněk Kühn, Judge at the Czech Constitutional Court and Professor of Legal Theory
David Kosař, Professor of Constitutional Law specialising in judicial governance
Through engaging lectures, case study discussions, and roundtables, participants will work with leading scholars and practitioners to critically evaluate these areas in light of European standards and case law. The workshop is part of the European Commission-funded TRIIAL 2 project.
Who Should Apply
This workshop is open to judges, public prosecutors, attorneys, and other legal professionals from EU countries, particularly those with an interest in judicial governance and court administration. Spaces are limited to 40 participants (15 in person and 25 online). In-person participants will have travel, accommodation, and meals covered by the organisers. Training will be conducted in English, and certificates of participation will be provided.

Selection Criteria
Applicants will be chosen based on professional background, experience with rule of law issues, gender and age balance, and proficiency in English. Priority will be given to trainers in the legal field.
